Urban Decision Group (UDG) is an urban planning firm that specializes in leveraging technology to derive timely, high quality information for planners and decision makers. Technologies such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), social media, web and mobile development, 3-D modeling and cloud-based public participation solutions, are just some examples of technology that can be utilized to enhance the traditional planning practice. Urban Decision Group was founded in 2010 by urban planner/tech geek Rick Stein, AICP when he realized there were large information gaps between urban planners, developers and the decision makers responsible for making projects happen. Since then, UDG has been applying their novel solutions to a variety of projects in sectors such as: public planning (land use & comprehensive planning, community development), housing, education, parks and recreation, transportation and private commercial development.

Urban Decision Group’s primary office is located in Westerville, Ohio. Since 2010, UDG has completed projects in all 50 states, several U.S. territories and Canada.
